Heres an analysis someone who knows the sport immensely put
together. I used to see teh fight like this aswell.. until i realised
something serious. Taylors Size and incredible strength... prior
to his fights with Bhop (who backed up most the fights, is
extremely hard to hit clean, and was shown incredible ammounts
of respect), Prior to his fights with bhop.. he was the rough'em
up type of fighter.. Forcing his guys into defensive shells on the
ropes and he'd unload ferocious flurries.
Winky's style is practically made for Taylor (of old).
Winky will be standing infront of Taylor with his hands
up all day long.. and he will be beaten sinceless now that
i stop being bias, i realise this.
Lets just hope Stewart has something else planned, something
more in Winky's favor LOL.
But yeh.. here is the analysis someone saw
Taylor comes out early and immediately shows what Manny has taught him. He tries to give Winky angles and he uses his jab. That much-talked-about 'bow and arrow' flaw seems to have been corrected. Jirmane probably takes the first two rounds on his greater activity and spirit.
By round four, Winky has made his adjustments and is stepping INSIDE of JT's jab. Taylor has slowed and is being jabbed, countered, then clinched. Winky is surprisingly strong inside.
By the mid-rounds, Winky is showing the wealth of experience in having fought many different types of fighters in many countries. Winky is smiling from behind that guard and the fight has become predictable. Zherrmain is gassing a bit. Remember, Jurmayne has fought TWO big-time opponents: Bernard Hopkins, and, er Bernard Hopkins. WW has Vargas, Mosley twice and Trinidad on his resume. Who do you trust to make the proper adjustments in a close fight?
Round six. A highly-motivated Winky steps up the pressure and is backing Jhurmaaayne up with the right jab and increasingly stiffer lefts. Winky is cruising and wins about five rounds in the second half of the fight.
What Jirmane will do well: spirit, energy, gameplan EARLY and hard shots.
What Winky will do well: come on strong late, infighting, patience, defense, adjustments, consistent scoring. I think WW is super-motivated because if he loses, NOBODY will fight him. There's no reason to take that risk without the belt. (caveat: Wink, staythefuckout of all the rap videos.)
Winky 116-112 Taylor.
